This July things have been pretty crazy here in Cusco, and because of that, on the actual 4th of July we weren’t able to really celebrate our American independence properly. Since we can’t be with our families and friends back home on holidays, we have always made an effort to celebrate them in a special way as a team, so we knew we wanted to do something even if it couldn’t be on the actual holiday. So, we decided to make a special trip to the nearby village of Pisac that Saturday with the team, interns, and a group of campaigners that are here right now conducting an English campaign. One of the couples planning on joining the work in 2014, Danyel and Derrek Wilson, were also here during that time doing a survey trip so they were able to go with us as well. We had a great time playing soccer, volleyball, eating some yummy BBQ sandwiches, and watching a great fireworks show to end the day. The park we used has a nice playground and the kids (and adults) had a lot of fun playing on it. Pisac is a great little town in the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Cusco region. We are so fortunate to be so close to so many amazing and beautiful places here in Cusco.
